Ending is somewhat abrupt, as it leads directly into a different fangame
(10/9/25 update: fixed several things that didn't work correctly, reworked a few attacks, and buffed both the party and the Knight)
AS OF MAY 2026:
WASD inputs are supported in place of arrow keys
Reworked/Buffed several attacks
Reduced RNG in damage taken
Increased DF boost from Q5U4EX7YY2E9N's assist
Changed Susie's idle animation after phase 2 begins, as suggested in a comment
SIGNIFICANTLY reworked/buffed the final attack, and made it possible to die to, as it was not previously.
Fixed the name of BitterTear, I genuinely thought it was "BitterTea" this whole time-

Choosing "start (skip intro)" after restarting after a loss causes all helper characters to turn invisible and causes Susie and her target to turn invisible for the rest of the fight after using Overheal. On Win11 with the recruit var, if that helps any.
thank you for letting me know, also thank you for being very specific with the description of how you encountered the problem, this issue has been brought up before, but I was never able to reproduce it due to lack of information on how it was triggered

ok so I know what causes it now
I may be stupid
when you die, it triggers a broadcast that causes a lot of things to stop / reset, one being the background, since it blacks out during attacks, and I wouldn't want it to start blacked out
for whatever reason, when the background resets on death, I had made it STOP REGULATING THE LAYER IT WAS ON, which allows other components to move behind it when specific actions are taken.
it... should be fixed in ~10 minutes

Undoing Kris's choice is impossible if Susie is down, learned this when input lag made me use revivemint on ralsei instead of susie

I feel that you should use angry Susie/eyeless Susie sprites instead after Lancer gets (almost) attacked and keep those sprites for the rest of the battle.
This would be a good idea
unfortunately it also means ~70 more Susie sprites, and significantly modifying the existing setup I have for how animations play
I might do it eventually, once I finish my other current projects, but it wouldn't be for a while
I knew there was lots of sprites for Susie, but i never thought that those would be ~70
a request I have for all of your deltarune fangames is to add the TP refill cheatkey from this one to the others, just to make them more accessible to noob players (like me)
also it doesnt really make sense that your easiest fangame is the only one with a cheat lol

the reason I initially didn't was because in it was originally a this-one-specific glitch that I patched, but didn't want to just cut off what some people used as a lifeline
also infinite TP kind of trivializes some, like the Normal route Susie one. and might not help in others, like the Weird route Susie, given your limited menu time
TP hasn't ever really been an issue for me in Free_her, the problem I had with that was just- not going from full HP to dead in one attack
edit- 't' cheatkey has been enabled for all fangames except Free_her, I'll probably do that one too at some point, will update again when I do

found a funny glitch where using susie's overheal on Kris will make both of them invisible

because when I try to trigger this nothing happens, overheal on Kris works normally for me
Dunno how, it just made them invisible for some reason
I finally figured out what causes it, it should be fixed soon
the issue was that when you lose, a lot of things reset to get ready for the next attempt, one of which being the background.
For some reason, when the background reset, it stopped regulating the layer it was on, and other sprites were able to move behind the background layer when certain actions were taken
Is there any way you could add controller support? or button mapping? if so that'd be awesome!
